The current state of the country has me questioning what services I use and what business I will patronize. No company is perfect--and industry consolidation can make switching almost impossible--but few of us need Facebook.
There are many things to be annoyed with Facebook about:
Fake people/influencers
Feature bloat
Inconsistent moderation
Apps that hog resources
The algorithm
The final straw for me was the $25 million settlement paid to Trump. I think this and other similar "settlements" are just bribes to get what they want from the administration. I am avoiding other companies where I can for similar reasons. But as I said before, Facebook (and Meta) are easy to do away with.
I'll share how I've replaced Meta in a future post. If you've left Meta, let me know why you did it and how you replaced it, if at all.
